Meet Hannah: A quickfire Q&A with our Front Row Committee Member

Meet Hannah:

  • Member of our Front Row: Next Gen event committee
  • Head of Marketing at Designer Exchange
  • Disability advocate and fabulous fashionista

Hannah first got involved with Back Up three years ago, when her company, Designer Exchange, provided designer outfits for our annual Front Row fashion show. After an unforgettable event in 2023, Hannah is now on our special events committee, bringing fresh new looks and ideas to Front Row: Next Gen!

With our fashion show and fundraiser fast approaching on 17 September, we caught up with Hannah. She shares her passions, her top style tips, and why she’s so excited for THE fashion event of the year.

“The first time we supported Front Row, I came away from the show in happy tears,” Hannah says. “It was such an incredible event, and I said from that moment on we have to do this every year.”

“We love working with Back Up because it’s an amazing charity that does so much to help people affected by spinal cord injury. Supporting Back Up is one of the best things we’ve ever done!”

“I’m super excited to see Front Row: Next Gen come to life. With a new look, three brilliant fashion shows and a range of awesome pop-up shops, it’s going to be fantastic!”

“I’m also looking forward to seeing all of the models. They have such a range of backgrounds and stories, and they’re what makes the event so special.”

The Rapid-Fire Report: Getting to know Hannah

We also asked Hannah to take part in our quickfire Q&A – check out what she had to say.

📚 What are you reading?

“I’m currently reading The Holiday by T M Logan – it is one of the most gripping books I’ve ever read with so many unexpected twists and turns. I sometimes wish my commute to work was longer so I could keep reading as I never want to put it down.”

🍴 Favourite place to eat?

“Hakkasan Mayfair – this is a recent find and not an everyday dine as it’s a bit out of my budget for the usual date night. But for special treats and celebrations this should be on everyone’s list to try – the duck salad is a MUST.”

🎧 Podcasts in your playlist?

“I love listening to He Said, She Said by Louise Thompson and Ryan Libbey. They are honest and real about everything, from disagreements and stigmas to whatever else life throws at them. It’s nice to hear someone in the public eye sharing the good, the bad and the ugly.”

🎬 Favourite film?

“I’m personally more of a series watcher over films. I have the worst memory when it comes to movies, but from the somewhat limited number of films I can remember watching I’d say my favourite would be Django Unchained.”

💍 Current obsession?

“Bangles!!! I’m in love with a good stack of bangles at the moment. My mum said she can remember they were all the rage when she was my age, just like they are now! It’s always funny and amazing how things come back around.”

👗 What’s your number one style tip?

“Invest in a good coat or jacket – they make an outfit and you can wear them day in, day out. You can wear them to work, social engagements, dress them up, dress them down, and they’re also timeless.”

🌤️ What’s your big recommendation?

“My life recommendation is to always trust the process. Everything will work out, even when you can’t see the sky for the clouds – it will all become clear.”

🍫 Go-to treat?

“If money is no object, I’d say a pre-loved designer bag from yours truly, Designer Exchange! But day to day treats would have to be the HU dark chocolate and almond butter chocolate bar.”

🛍️ Favourite brand?

“I’d have to say Celine – it’s classic and it never goes out of fashion. They craft their clothes and accessories in a minimalistic yet chic way; that’s just a little bit of me.”
