It’s one year since Back Up was thrown into financial uncertainty as, one by one, our fundraising events were cancelled… the London Marathon, City Dinner, Dragon Boat Racing, countless coffee mornings and bake sales… all the wonderful ways in which our supporters help us raise funds so that we can provide vital services for people affected by spinal cord injury.
In 2020, there would be no bucket collections or Christmas choirs. And we worried that this would impact our ability to support people who needed Back Up more than ever.
Our supporters rallied round to ensure that people locked down with new injuries would receive our extended outreach support and access to new remote services.
We still have so much to do. We anticipate a huge demand for support as the country opens up and, 12 months on, we still face the same challenges in getting the Back Up community together face to face to raise funds for Back Up.
This spring, if you send a gift to Back Up, we will send you a packet of seeds as a thank you and a symbol of hope. Your donation will help us grow strong as you watch your seeds grow strong. You can help us grow a better future for people affected by spinal cord injury.
- £15 could pay for outreach support calls to newly injured patients to offer vital support.
- £35 could fund for an education advocate school visit to ensure that no child with a spinal cord injury feels left out during challenging times.
- £50 could fund essential wheelchair skills session for someone who missed the opportunity during lockdown to learn how to tackle ramps and kerbs and get around independently.
