Our TCS London Marathon 2027 charity places are officially open for applications!

The London Marathon is truly an achievement of a lifetime. One of the world’s most famous marathons, it is also the largest annual fundraising event on the planet – runners have raised over £750 million for good causes since the race began in 1981.

In 2026, six amazing runners are taking on the TCS London Marathon for Back Up: Esther, Lucy, Louise, Rory, Simon F and Simon P. Together, they’ve already raised over £26,000 so far.

We have a limited number of charity places available for the London Marathon 2027.

If you’re interested in running for Back Up, please complete our application form as early as possible using the link below.

Applications will close on Monday, 13th July 2026, and the outcomes will be communicated via email in early August 2026

Official ballot and own place runners

The ballot is open from Friday, 24 April 2026, and closes on Friday, 1 May 2026.

We strongly encourage everyone to also apply for the London Marathon public ballot to increase your chances of securing a place. If you’re successful, you can still run for Back Up and receive all the same support and benefits. Just email our events team if you’d like to find out more.

Photography

We will be taking photos and videos at the London Marathon for use in Back Up’s fundraising and marketing materials. If you want to find out more about how photos and videos will be used, or if you’re attending this challenge and do not wish to be featured, please contact our fundraising team using the details at the bottom of this page.
