Returning to work or volunteering after spinal cord injury may feel overwhelming – but Back Up is here to equip you with the confidence and knowledge needed to thrive in the workplace after spinal cord injury.

Our Back to Work Bitesize services is a series of fortnightly webinars hosted on Zoom, covering a range of important subjects and delivered by people who understand what you may be going through.

Users can attend as many or as little sessions as they like. Topics covered include:

Skills Identification, 30 Jan – This session will explore your personal brand and your competences. It will help you think about the skills you have and how they can be transferred and be utilised in different job roles – particularly beneficial to those that are unable to return to their previous employment.

• CV Writing, 13 Feb – A CV is your opportunity to show off your skills and experiences. We will cover the key features of a CV, including how to tailor it to be attractive to recruiters and potential employers. We will also talk about how to position gaps in employment or education history and when, how, or if to position your disability.

• Reasonable Adjustments, 27 Feb – Not only do employers have a legal duty to consider adjustments for disabled applicants or employees, they want to put support in place to ensure you can perform to your full potential. This session will explore the types of adjustments you may need, how and when to request what you require, as well as the various support available. It will also cover Access to Work as well as disclosing your disability.
