Telephone support

Back Up’s telephone support service is available to anyone with a spinal cord injury. Our Outreach and Support team all have a spinal cord injury themselves and understand the challenges you might face.

We can use our own experiences to provide practical advice, offer a sympathetic ear or help you to achieve your goals. We can share our knowledge on topics such as:

  • Travel
  • Driving
  • Bladder management
  • Work or leisure.

You may want to learn more about Back Up’s mentoring service, which is for anyone with a spinal cord injury and their families, as well as our range of courses or other resources which may be able to help you. Or you might just need to talk to someone who understands what you’re going through.

‘The calls have given me opportunities to go out and do anything that I want to.’

We know spinal cord injury affects the whole family, that’s why we also have a telephone support service specifically for family members. If you are a parent, partner, child or any another member of the family with a loved one with spinal cord injury, this service could benefit you.
