Birthday fundraisers

Want to do something different for your birthday this year? Celebrate it by supporting Back Up and raising vital funds to help people affected by spinal cord injury. It’s really easy, everything you need is available through your Facebook account.

Here are five tips on how to make the most of your birthday fundraiser:

  1. Be ready

In the run up to your birthday you can create a birthday fundraiser through Facebook. Alternatively, set up a fundraising page through our website. By doing it beforehand, you can get people excited about your special day coming up. Plus, it’s online so you can enjoy your birthday without having to worry about it.

  1. Set a goal

Set a target to motivate people to pitch in. You could add a zero to the age you’re turning, so if you’re turning 30 you could aim for £300. One of our supporters reached their goal and set it even higher and ended up raising even more money!

  1. Get personal

Tell people why you’re using your birthday to fundraise for Back Up. Inform them about your connection to the charity. Including a personal link or story helps people to engage with our work and more likely to donate. You can use stories and statistics from our latest impact report, so people can really see the difference Back Up’s work makes.

  1. Thank everyone

Be sure to thank everyone for their donations in support of Back Up. A short message can be an easy way to make the people who donated feel valued, especially if it is personalised.

  1. Celebrate!

Enjoy your big day knowing that you’ve played an important role in supporting Back Up and people affected by spinal cord injury.
