It's Spinal Cord Injuries Awareness Day on Friday 18th May 2012.
To mark the event there will be quizzes at each of the 11 spinal units across the UK on Thursday 17th May 2012.
Groups of spinal cord injury patients who are currently undergoing rehabilitation will compete against each other to win the coveted quizz cup and the title of most knowledgeable spinal unit. The quizz has been devised by Jesse Honey, the 2010 winner of Mastermind.
The event is being organised by all the SIT charities: Back Up, Aspire, Spinal Injuries Awareness, Spinal Injuries Scotland and Spinal Research. The aim is to increase awareness of the charities' work among staff and patients at all the spinal units and all of the charities will have a presence at the units. There will be stalls with information about what the charities do, together with general information about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle with a spinal cord injury.
For those who would like to organise their own event to mark the day, the quizz will be available to download on Friday 18th May from www.everyeighthours.com
