Worthy winners announced in our Grand Prize Draw

“That’s fantastic, I never win anything!” was Katy Kelly’s response when we called her to tell her she had won a case of Piggy Bank Wine in our grand prize draw.  Katy had a spinal cord injury in 2001 and took part in some of our courses initially as a participant and subsequently as a group leader.  She is also one of our amazing regular donors who are vital to allow Back Up to plan for the future.

Our main prize was an all-inclusive holiday from Mark Warner which was won by Clare Donoghue who was also thrilled with her prize.  Clare works for one of our corporate supporters, Snowdon Tate and ran the London Marathon for us earlier this year raising over £1,000.  We were delighted to be able to give something back to both Clare and Katy.

We also had very happy winners of our Beats by Dre Headphones and our Fortnum & Mason Champagne hamper donated by PI Costings.

There were obviously lots of other very worthy raffle ticket buyers out there and we’re sorry everyone couldn't win! Rest assured though that the money raised will make a big difference to Back Up and the people with spinal cord injury we support .  This year the ticket sales and associated donations raised over £5,000 which could cover the cost for over 100 people to attend Back Up’s wheelchair skills training sessions while in hospital.  Thanks to everyone who bought tickets this year and to our prize donors Mark Warner, PI Costings and Piggy Bank Wines.
