Back Up are pleased to announce that our long time partner Serious Injury Law have commited to supporting our mentoring services for the next three years.
Serious Injury Law is one of the UK's leading law practices specialising solely in serious and catastrophic injury cases, and we are thrilled to announce this partnership which will help us reach more people with this vital service.
Our accredited peer mentoring programme has been supporting individuals with spinal cord injury since 2005, and their parents and partners since 2011. Demand for our mentoring services is increasing rapidly, both by people with spinal cord injury and by family members. Last year we saw over 100% increase in referrals from healthcare professionals in the spinal centres. This year with the help of Serious Injury Law we will introduce peer mentoring for siblings affected by spinal cord injury. For more information on mentoring please visit our services website.
Paul Breen, Partner and Head of the Catastrophic Injury Department at Serious Injury Law said:
“It is a fantastic privilege that we are able to support such a worthwhile charity, which continues to go from strength to strength in the work they undertake for spinal cord injured people and their families.
Having seen the positive benefits to some of our clients first hand, we feel that the mentoring scheme provides invaluable advice and assistance to those affected by spinal cord injury. We are very proud to support it, and are pleased to be able to strengthen an already strong relationship with Back Up.”
Corporate partnerships manager, Sean McCallion said, "Like Back Up, Serious Injury Law work to achieve the best outcomes for people affected by spinal cord injury, so this partnership on our mentoring programme is a natural fit for both organisations. We are delighted with their support which will help Back Up reach many more people who need this service, and we hope our partnership can continue to grow in the future."
