Victoria Grove, 22, broke three vertebrae in her back while on a climbing trip in Chile earlier this year. Lucky to survive she fought her way back to fitness and is now planning to run the equivalent of eight marathons in eight days. Along with her close friend Anna Ridout, 25, Victoria will run from Paris to London in April 2012.
Victoria and Anna will run approximately 220 miles, starting with the Paris marathon and rounding off their challenge by completing the Virgin London marathon a week later. This equates to a total of approximately 220 miles – more than eight full marathons in eight days.
Louise Wright, Chief Executive of Back Up said “Back Up works to transform the lives of people affected by spinal cord injury and enables them able to live their lives to the full. Victoria and Anna’s commitment to this challenge is inspirational and will raise vital funds for the charities. We wish them every luck in their training and look forward to welcoming them over the finish line on 22nd April 2012.”
