Virgin London Marathon
Congratulations team Back-Up!

Sunday 25th April 2010

The Back-Up team of runners and pushers were amazing this year and have raised over £26,000 between them and still rising! Despite some early rain the race went well, we had 8 super stars whose legs and arms carried them the 26 miles and pushed themselves to the limit to support people with a spinal cord injury.

A huge THANK YOU to:

Debbie Cragg, Hester Sellers, Simon Cliff, Ben Wright, Daniel Hill, Kirsty Heppenstall, Sam Harris, Mark O'Neill, their friends, family and everyone who donated - it is a truly inspiring achievement!

The Virgin London Marathon is one of the most famous running events in the world and The Back-Up Trust has five guaranteed spaces for 2011.

If you'd like to apply for a Back-Up Trust place in the 2011 marathon please download an application form here and return it to fundraising@backuptrust.org.uk by 29th October 2010

We encourage all applicants to apply for the Ballot as well - we will only decide on who has been successful once the ballot places are announced in October.

       Emily Sweeney, London 2009

Our ballot runners don’t have a minimum sponsorship target and we will support you all the way to the finish line.

If you are an elite wheelchair athlete and would like to find out how to take part, please click here. You need to have completed a marathon race and expect to achieve the distance in less than three hours.
