Richard Branson recently turned 65 and to celebrate, he wants to take on 65 different challenges throughout the year.
Here at Back Up we love a challenge. We are a small charity based in London that helps people to rebuild their confidence and independence after a devastating spinal cord injury. Our services include wheelchair skills training, mentoring and residential courses ranging from outward bound to getting back to employment - all run by volunteers affected by spinal cord injury themselves.
Here’s the challenge…
We would like to #ChallengeRichard to spend some time in a wheelchair and check out the accessibility of one or more Virgin companies. In our experience Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Trains and Virgin Active Gyms are all pretty good at getting things right when it comes to catering for customers with disabilities. But there’s always room for improvement – and what better way to highlight the issues faced by disabled people or people with mobility difficulties than checking things out in person.
Spend as much or little time as you want in the wheelchair…65 minutes, a day or if you’re up for it 65 hours! How about nominating some others to take on the challenge with you?
If you’re happy to accept this challenge, you’ll help us raise awareness of spinal cord injury and you’ll prove to the world that life goes on after spinal cord injury.
We’ll be able to supply a wheelchair and offer training to ensure your challenge is safe.
#ChallengeRichard – we hope to hear from you soon!
