Approximately 3 people every day have an accident or injury that results in permanent paralysis through damage to the spinal cord. Despite good medical progress there is still no cure. Paralysis is permanent.
Over 40,000 people in the UK have a spinal cord injury (SCI), the majority of whom use wheelchairs to get around. Back-Up is a small, dynamic and professional charity that runs a range of services for people with SCI as well as their friends, family and volunteers to encourage independence, self-confidence and motivation following a life changing injury.

All money raised on this page will be earmarked as being donations made via the Alan Sinclair Tribute Fund when they reach The Back-Up Trust. Funds will be donated to the sailing activities at Back-Up. We'll keep you updated with the impact your support has had.
Back-Up exchanges hospitals for lakes and mountains, wheelchairs for boats and ski's and frustration and anger for achievement and fun by running a year round programme of activity courses that are challenging events for able bodied and spinally injured people. Your support will make a huge difference.
