The Back-Up Trust is governed by a voluntary board of twelve trustees. In
keeping with the charity’s ethos of integration 50% are spinally injured. The
trustees are responsible for the Charity’s strategy and policies and,
ultimately for everything the charity does. In addition to the Trustees,
the charity is honoured to receive the support of several well-respected
patrons.

“The strength of the Back-Up Trust is in its simplicity. For
participants to be able to experience the thrill and excitement of sporting
and outdoor activities reminds everyone involved that any obstacle in
life CAN be overcome."

"When you know first hand how a Back-Up course can change your life, its hard not to be continually inspired by what Back-Up achieves. For me, I was seventeen when a car accident resulted in a broken neck and a complete lesion at C5/6. I was coerced onto a water-ski course and I haven't looked back since. It changed my perception of my disability. I was still able in so many ways. Back-Up has a lasting impact on thousands of people both spinally injured and able bodied. It has shown them a way so that they are able to go on and lead fun and fulfilling lives. That's why I'm proud to still be associated with such a great charity."
