You can call our office on 020 8875 1805 and speak to a member of our friendly Youth Team Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. We'll be happy to try and answer any queries or concerns you may have during the week. There's plenty of experience related to young people and spinal cord injury within our Team. You can talk about anything you like and it doesn't even have to be about going on a Back-Up course! If we can't supply a solution we'll hopefully be able to point you in the right direction

Sustaining a spinal cord injury means that you are faced with many new challenges and different experiences. These are sometimes hard to deal with, especially when you may feel that no-one knows what it’s like. But you are not alone!

Back-Up can introduce you to a trained mentor, someone who’s slightly older, had their spinal cord injury for a few years, and experienced many of the challenges you may be facing. We can arrange for our mentors to speak with you regularly on the phone or meet up at your spinal unit to help you think through how to solve the challenges you’re facing. You’ll also be able to ask your mentor about their experiences, as someone who’s been through it before.
